I have been a camp counselor, a high school and college teacher, a GED teacher for the Federal Bureau of prisons, and a life-long tutor and trainer. I have taught GED, college courses, high school classes, etc. I have successfully tutored students, all ages and ethnic groups, in Elementary and High School Math, MCAS test prep, SAT math test prep, Accounting, Algebra, Geometry, etc.

I have always enjoyed both the humanities and sciences. At Virginia Tech, I majored in Philosophy and Minored in Statistics and Business. Since graduation, I have worked primarily in an engineering setting performing statistical analysis and other tasks typically performed by a test & validation engineer. Next fall I am starting a masters program at Northeastern University for Industrial Engineering. I have substitute taught for the Hopkinton Public School system and the Auburn Public School system. My teaching style is to review the fundamentals. If I find deficiencies, I address these first. I then introduce the subject core using applications that the student can relate to. I get students to participate in solving problems by working through the steps in turn. I keep track of student preparation for accreditation by giving home work assignments. I keep notes on lessons and student progress. While offering words of encouragement, I keep the student informed about the progress and indicate that there is still time for excellence.
As an Engineering major I tutored students in Math for 2 years to pay for my education.
