My teaching philosophy and primary goal is to first understand and appreciate each child for their unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses, then to channel those abilities toward a better appreciation of the practical value of science and math knowledge. Learning comes easiest when students find benefits to knowledge. Each assignment represents a short term goals, building a student’s confidence with each successful completion. A Little Bit About Me...

Informal for large groups as I wanted the students to see me as like them, but with enough capability to inspire them to listen. I learned early on you cannot make anybody learn anything. You must inspire them to want to learn. At the 1-on-1 setting (tutoring level), I work at a very detailed level with the particular student I have with me at the time. Each one is sufficiently different to warrant different teaching approaches to maximum effect and retention.
During my Doctoral candidate years, I worked as both a engineering lecturer and laboratory instructor for 3 different engineering fields. The fields were circuit design, applied mathematics and practical laboratory equipment usage. I also gave lectures in Applied Optics (physics) for Seniors at Clarkson University during my last Doctoral year (1984-85) at campus.
