Traditional Acoustic Guitar Styles

Personal guitar-playing experience Seven years of focused, teacher-led personal instruction with Michael Fath, world-renowned guitar virtuoso from Fairfax VA. This has allowed me to review their teaching styles and methods, while learning new skills and approaches to the instrument. Substantial self-instruction in several acoustic styles, including blues fingerstyle, bluegrass, roots jazz, introductory classical, and Flamenco. All self-instruction has been aimed toward the establishment of solid fundamentals. Public performance and recording experience with bands, at open mics, and public jams. Music lessons in the natural method with Ukulele

I have been involved in music, singing, playing instruments and performing for many decades. I studied music history, music theory and musical performance in High School & College. I am experienced in Ukulele, Guitar, Keys & Drums. I have a large repertoire of musical pieces to draw from in order to provide an engaging learning experience in many different genres of music.
I teach in a laid-back, natural method. We like to have fun! I respect all talented, dedicated & accomplished classical musicians and anyone who reads musical notation. I don't teach sheet music or following musical pieces along as if you were reading instructions. I prefer to get blossoming musicians in touch with the natural way to enjoy music and express themselves. We accomplish this with playing by ear, utilizing musical properties and phrases that work together well, and making a connection with the music a ... read more

I like to have a schedule written out so that the child knows what will be expected of him/her that day. I am very organized and like to complete tasks in a timely manner. I like to address all the questions the child may have during a lesson, I try to explain things in several different ways so that child will grasp the concept in a way that makes sense to him/her.
I have been employed with my internship for approximately 2 years now. The company is called ChAMP (Children Achieving Maximal Potential), I work with autistic children in their homes. Spreading knowledge across the world

I'm more of a hands on and visual teacher. I prefer to show than to read because many ideas can come from one sentence. I learn more by drawing out or actually seeing what my teacher is trying to convey.
I am a 17 year old female who has so much talent to share with the people around me. I'm apart of a community service club, I play a variety of instruments, and from my experiences I've gained a lot of wisdom. I may not be certified with a piece of paper to show, but who said that in order to spread knowledge you had to have graduated and attended college? All in all I aim to please and I give 100% because 99 1/2 won't do.

I believe that the best way to make sure somebody remembers something is to have them discover it for themselves. My teaching style is centered around this. I enjoy asking guiding questions to point a student in the right direction, and filling in the blanks afterward. I believe the ultimate role of a teacher is to help the student better themselves, and that the best way to do this is through instruction with positive reinforcement instead of direct criticisms, and through finding the right way to motivate the student as an individual.
The guitar has always been my biggest passion, and I have made it my goal to learn as much about it as possible. This search has led me to study classical guitar and music theory formally at the University of Delaware for three years before leaving to study recording in a professional technical environment at the Omega Studios' School.
