Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear. After earning my teaching degree in English, I gained some middle school and high school teaching experience, then took a different path for some years. While earning my master's degree in reading education, I gained experience by helping teach children at Western Carolina University's reading clinic in Asheville. I have done some individual tutoring on my own, while searching for a position in my field. As an avid reader myself, I know the value of a sound reading ability.
