My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Have taken college level classes in World History and Government and covered most of the sub sets taught at High School level.

As a Graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, I have obtained a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Minors in Math and Biology. I have gained knowledge in most of the sub-sets on those subjects as well as High School or College entry level in most other academic subjects. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have my degree from Saginaw Valley State University in English and History. I have taught history classes before including American and World History. Within that I have had experience with Geography.

I have my teaching degree in English and History from Saginaw Valley State University and have done my student teaching at Skeels Christian Schools where my class sizes ranged from thirteen to six students. Teaching mainly K-8 on a consistent schedule, I have learned that some students need one-on-one teaching. Being the third teacher in Head Start, I had time to work with individual students. All children were very well prepared for kindergarten. The older children, including High School and Middle School, I would walk around the room and aide them when they were confused. A Little Bit About Me...

Dr. Segal taught us that traditional teaching methods are outmoded. Therefore I came to my own conclusion that as a teacher I would allow my students to confront me on their terms and make the learning experience as relaxed as possible. Students won't learn anything if A) the environment is unsuited to them and B) if you jump down their throat over every little thing. The important question to ask them is "why?" or "what do you think?" In regards to myself teaching is an avenue that I am considering and thus a bit of real tutoring would give me a taste of how I should go about teaching in the future.
