My comments on tutoring Special Education : Many of the psychology courses I have taken focused on special education learning theories and practices. Also, currently I am pursuing a graduate degree in special education

I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. There is no other way that I know of to quickly build the confidence of a student and the belief in one's self, than to teach a student how to figure out problems on their own. It is a very uplifting and life changing experience for a student to finally have confidence in self. My role is to encourage, guide, and correct when they may be going in the wrong direction while learning.

I am a graduate level professional, who has gained a great amount of experience working with children with disabilities. I have a Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology and have worked in numerous schools to help children achieve academically. I worked as an instructional aide for three years in both special education and general education classrooms. I have tutored children with learning disabilities and autism in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics.
