Biology is one of my top subjects! I am a trained Environmental Scientist with a Bachelor of Sciences degree with an Environmental Science Concentration. I graduated by successfully completing coursework in a variety of biology and ecology courses, including Freshwater Biology, Zoology, Insect and Fish Biology, and Environmental Pollution and Control.

I completed coursework in several biology and chemistry classes. This coursework included labs and field work. The biology labs I have experience in include: Zoology, Ecology, Freshwater Biology, Insect, and Fish Biology. These labs were highly detailed and included all levels of dissections, identification of species using taxonomic keys, and microscope work. The field work included species colllection, mapping, and sample collection. Lab reports and field notes were required as part of the labs. The seminars for these courses involved all aspects of biology and life sciences. The exams for these courses were involved and would require 2-5 page essays on biological systems. My comments on tutoring Biology : Completed 5 basic biology courses while in college

I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. There is no other way that I know of to quickly build the confidence of a student and the belief in one's self, than to teach a student how to figure out problems on their own. It is a very uplifting and life changing experience for a student to finally have confidence in self. My role is to encourage, guide, and correct when they may be going in the wrong direction while learning.

I love to learn and help others to learn. Different people learn differently; therefore, I present material in a number of ways until I discover how the tutee learns.
