I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. As a tutor I have discovered that everyone learns differently; therefore, I try to find ways to adapt my own tutoring style to the learning styles of the people I tutor. I can be more hands-on if the student requires it, but I can also act as more of a general guide. I believe that it is important for the students to be in charge of the sessions, so I try my best to take my cues from them. I also think it is important to have realistic expectations of the students I tutor.
