My comments on tutoring Writing : On my spare time I enjoy writing for myself and sometimes others. I have kept a dream diary since high school that has tremendously helped with my writing skills and analytical skills. As a student of mine, you will learn the effectiveness of sentence length, grammar rules, paragraph indention, vocabulary development and tone of writing.
Growing up, I observed how some students in my classes instantly understood and learned quicker than me. I understood the same thing they did, because I received similar grades. The difference was in how information was taught. As a tutor, my goal is to evaluate a students best method of learning. This is done by asking the student, guardian and presenting a student with different techniques of learning (visual, verbal, and hands-on).
My teaching experience started as a volunteer tutor for ESL learners. For two years I volunteered at the Benjamin Franklin Library, located in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.
