Ready to love learning

I currently work as a substitute teacher at Riverside Military Academy. I've worked with elementary children and teenagers extensively. My most recent position serves twenty and thirty somethings in their personal and spiritual formation. I have published my writing, acted on stage, spoken before thousands and mentored dozens. My personal intent is to explore life, discover new things, tackle hard challenges and inspire others to do the same. I believe in the value of the individual and don't believe one-size-fits-all.
Adaptive. I have a background in experiential education and believe that the method is not as important as the end result of having assimilated, understood, and taught back the information. In my professional career, I enjoy taking a problem, breaking it down into its component parts, and solving each part as I work towards its solution. I also try to do this whenever I am showing someone how to do something, making sure that the person I am instructing is comfortable at each step of the way. I feel that teaching will not only inform young minds to think differently or make them more motivated to learn. But to allow one to master his or her knowledge in general, teaching allows oneself to fully understand the subject in their own minds. Young minds such as children are easily impacted by an adult, which I feel that that should be influenced with positive, enjoyable learning. I began tutoring as an undergrad at the University of California, while completing my BA in Economics. I gained invaluable experience tutoring the Advanced English-Core class for incoming freshman on an individual basis. My studies and work experience in Finance, Engineering, and Design have allowed me to add expertise in these subjects to my existing writing ability.
