My comments on tutoring Homework Help : No hovering! Great patience!

I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style.
Teaching brings me pleasure. What I do is to show them, help them, then have them do whatever I am teaching them to do. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well.

I lived in Belarus from ages 13 to 20 with my parents, who were missionaries. I learned to speak, read, and write in Russian within the first year. I served in our local church by teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, helping in summer camps, leading youth group activities, translating for American visitors, and generally being quite involved in all aspects of my parents' ministry.
