A Little Bit About Me...

During my last four years I have been given several opportunities to interact and educate students of all ages. Working with the Upward Bound Program I tutored high school students in various subjects. As a varsity basketball player I was frequently in charge of teaching the sport's fundamental skills necessary to younger children. While this kind of education differs from one received in the classroom, I believe that the objective is similar in that students are being taught essential elements of a subject. My dominant teaching style is connecting with students on a personal level. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.

My tutoring experience isn't really too official. I mostly just help people with College Algebra around the dorms. I am pretty good with teaching and helping with math, and could probably do it at a High School level. Not actually having a BS probably will just limit me to high school tutoring. With the people skills I have developed working as an Resident Assistant I know I can be effective in helping high school students in math, biology, french, and chemistry.
I really like to help people in general, that's the reason why I became a Resident Assistant. As a Resident Assistant I have aided many students with problems they may have in their first year of college, including tutoring them in subjects i am proficient in. I like to see people grow and learn over which is achieved by aiding a person in discovering and cultivating various talents.
