I have four years experience as an Associate Instructor of Political Science and Political Philosophy at the college level. In this capacity I frequently tutored students individually, helping them to grasp complicated concepts. Many students struggled more with the basics of term paper writing than the material itself. I was able to help them improve their academic writing skills significantly.
Students learn better when they see the relevance of the material they are studying to their own lives. In many subject areas this relevance is not obvious, and students may tune out as a result.
