My comments on tutoring Journalism : I have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel and completed an internship with the local NPR station, WUNC.

I have a degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel. Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. My classrooms were traditional with twenty to thirty students with a variety of learning and maturity levels. When I tutored students who needed additional help with the end-of-year writing tests, I worked with small groups of four to six, or one-on-one as indicated.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a tutor since high school, when I taught my classmates as a way to earn money for a Nintendo. I loved helping my friends succeed, so when I went to Duke University I continued to tutor my classmates through the Peer Tutoring Program. My zeal for tutoring even extended over the summer, when I would tutor fellow campers as they prepared for their Bar Mitzvah. I have a lot of experience working with all ages of children. As a teacher, I try to maintain a respectful but friendly dialogue with the student.
