My comments on tutoring Piano : My name is Sooji. I really want to help you with learning to play the piano! I love teaching people who are not experienced with music but passionate about learning. Although learning piano can be challenging, I really want to fulfill you your needs. I learned professional piano performing in Canada and have experiences of teaching young children. I also got numerous prices in many piano competitions and the 2nd highest grade in my piano exam in ARCT (the highest level in piano education system in Canada). Please feel free to contact me or email me. I will be happy to answer your questions. I will attach my resume and playing list, so you can have a sense of what level I am in now, and whether you think I might be helpful for your piano education! Most importantly, don't worry about the price. I just want to help you with learning music! If you want a different price, please feel free to tell me! Thank you again and I hope to hear from you soon!

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent college graduate from Ashland University with a degree in communication and French. While at Ashland as well as in high school, I was involved in peer tutoring programs. In high school, I tutored a second year student in French, mainly in grammatical concepts. In terms of mathematics, I was always a strong student in math. I completed algebra and geometry courses throughout high school. I was also a strong student in history. I completed American history courses in high school and college and even analyzed historical documents in one course. I have been playing piano for almost 14 years. I played mostly popular music such as What a Wonderful World, but I also played some classical pieces by Beythoven. I have participated in my teacher's recital since 2000 and have also participated in several talent shows at school and in the community. Finally, I have completed several sci ... read more

In my experience, a person needs to be confident in him/herself in order to succeed. Learning of scholastic material is two fold: personal and academic development. By understanding the manner in which the student comprehends new information, we then can build upon their foundation by removing the frustration and replacing it with confidence that will extend into their personal life as well.
As a bilingual, internationally traveled persona, I have tutored students of all ages. From 1999-2003, I have served as a third grade Teacher's Aide focusing on on reading, memorization and basic math tutoring. Since 1999, I also have tutored middle, high school, and college students in pre-algebra, algebra, geography, computer skills, writing, and grammar. My master's degree has trained me in learning techniques.

As a psychology graduate I have a deep desire to help children both academically and socially. Prior to becoming a psychology major I spent two years studying Early Childhood Education. As a result, I am competent not only in the field of psychology, but in education as well. I have tutored elementary aged children in several courses. I have outstanding writing and reading skills. I have excellent communication skills, and know how to talk with children in order to help them succeed. I worked in a daycare for 4 years. During that time I was both a toddler teacher, and substitute preschool teacher.
Working with children has always been a passion of mine. Although my BA is in psychology, I also took several courses in Early Childhood Education, including classes such as Reading Development and Elementary Mathematics. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience started teaching in a pre-school with 4 year olds. I then taught 3rd grade for 1 year and kindergarten for 9 years. When I updated my certificate (just in the last year) I did some teaching in a mildly handicapped resource room.
I feel my style of teaching is one of being a facilitator. I choose to interact with the student by asking questions so enabling them to reach the answer through their own thinking processes. The excitement of seeing their confidence build as they realize they can figure out problems independently is the reward of being an educator. I believe my job is to guide and support the student.

As a lifelong learner, I took on the challenge to complete my Bachelors and Masters degree after working as a professional musician for 15 years. My teaching style is one that will allow the students to learn at their own level. I believe that each student's learning needs are unique and that the educator must be open and flexible to providing instruction that will meet the needs of all learners. I also believe that the educator must be creative in their approach to help the learner grasp and comprehend the material.
