A Little Bit About Me...

As you can see, I have had very little tutoring experience, but my desire and passion has always been to share my knowledge and skills with those who need assistance in the area of accounting. I have done much volunteer work in my field of accounting and business administration via not much with tutoring. I would enjoy, appreciate and count it a blessing to be able to share and in part my educational experience and knowledge with student of all grade levels. I have many aspirations and goals and one of them is teaching in my field of accounting and maybe this is the door that will lead me into that direction. I believe that the most important element determining the degree to which a student will achieve is the level of expectations that are set for them. High, clear expectations with consistent feedback on progress is absolutely critical to making the most significant academic gains possible. Students should know exactly what they are expected to do, and should be able to track their own progress towards demanding goals along the way. When students are asked to excel, they rise higher than they thought they could.

I have teaching experience on all grade levels in urban school districts. I am currently a special education teacher in the Saint Louis Public School District, and I have enjoyed the challenge of working with educationally handicapped students and seeing many of them being mainstreamed into the general education population. I have had the opportunity to incorporate a learning center environment based on student needs, and utilized activity centers for individualized and small group instruction.
