I prefer to see what the learning style of the student is and then adapt my teaching style to the student.
I was an in-school suspension teacher for two years at Durand High and Middle School, helping students get caught up on their pre-algebra, social studies, science, English and Spanish homework. Previously to becoming a teacher I worked in industry as a project manager or assistant for different companies, using Spanish occasionally. I student taught in 2004 at Hononegah HS, one semester at Auburn High School before being hired at Durand High School. I taught there for four years and took a job in 2008 at Christian Life High School where I am currently employed during the school year.

A Little Bit About Me...

There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions. Once a child starts asking questions you know that they are excited about it and want to learn. When teaching my goal is always to get children excited about what they are doing and then proceed from there. All children have different strengths and I try to work from those strengths.
I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. I have taken extensive courses in math and science. Math and science are fields that I love and excel at. I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me.
I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way. Since this is my area of expertise, I am able to come up with examples on the fly that will target the areas most troublesome to the student. Mathematics is a field that requires repetition but making that repetition as interesting as possible is a fun challenge.
