A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with 2 bachelor of Science degrees, Biology and Chemistry. I have also completed Mathematics as a minor. I have tutored when I was in College for about 3 years. I tutored students in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I was also a peer advisor creating and presenting academic programs to first year students helping them choose a major and plan their four-year schedule. I am also currently an online tutor for brainfuse.com (reading, English, Maths and science elementary-12).
I love tutoring students of any age and background. Seeing students that I have tutored passing their exams makes me feel like I have made a difference in their life at that one moment of seeing a smile on their faces.

When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know". All of these are useful tools, but in my opinion by far the most important is patience. Remaining patient when someone doesn't understand is the absolute most important thing. Too many children are willing to give up on a subject, all they need is someone who knows they can do it, and can show them how.
