I attended a small town highschool, but excelled above most of my peers there. I was on the Honor Roll, i can honestly never remember getting any grade lover than a high B, but once. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems with a double minor in Business Administration and Mathematics. I Love tutoring individuals and passing on knowledge. I was able to use my tutoring skills in college as a math and computer science tutor. I am a very analytical person. I am comfortable to be around. I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform. Working with children with special needs has allowed me to be able to get to know the student and adjust the curriculum so that the child will be able to benefit the most from!
As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught.
