I began homeschooling my children in 1993. My older son was in 8th grade, my younger son was in 4th grade, my oldest daughter was in Kindergarten, and my twin daughters were 2 years old. My older son graduated with 2 bachelor degrees after spending a year in France as an English teacher in a high school. My younger son graduated with a double degree and a minor. Both are currently in grad school. My oldest daughter will be returning to school next year after a 2-year leave. My twin daughters will begin college in the fall. I graduated Cum Laude from Ball State with a double major in Visual Communication and Genetics. Both my parents were teachers and I often tutored my friends. I taught Swimming to children every summer for from 2001-2005, so I have experience with young children having a hard time paying attention. I have strong skills in science and math. I like to work one-on-one with students. I can get a better feel for their learning style and therefore teach for that specific student. I like to teach by relating the subject to real life situations. All students can learn anything, it just sometimes takes a more personal approach before it really clicks. I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. The last few years of my college experience, where I ended up graduating with a Bachelor’s in Finance, were based around all of the science and math classes that Ohio Dominican University had to offer.
