I enjoy teaching and working with anyone willing to learn and even those that aren't as willing, i try to help them become more comfortable and confident in acquiring knowledge. I have many teaching techniques, depending on the student. My techniques range from visual, auditory and tactile. I am very patient and observant while teaching and I try my best to accommodate whatever is needed to allow learning progress.
I have earned my Bachelors of Science degree in mathematics, which has allowed me to ascertain advanced knowledge in all aspects of mathematics. My teaching style is very hands-on. I believe in practical knowledge and showing students several different ways to understand something. I also believe in providing students the opportunity to figure out solutions to problems on their own with encouragement, instead of just having them copy what I say. I also believe that all learning exercises can be challenging and fun, and not dull and boring. I plan to take what the child is interested in and apply it to their learning.
Since high school, my passion for telling stories led me to my degree in Journalism. After graduating from College, I entered the the field of social services as case manager. I employed for (12) twelfe years with serveral different companies working with cronically mentally ill adults. As a case manager my duties included, linking indiviuals to social and community services and monitoring their progress according indiviually designed service plans.I also worked as a mid manager supervising case managers.
