I believe in identifying the learning style of the student which can take some time with some. I am a strong believer in the Socratic style of teaching which, as you know, helps students themselves to think through issues and problems and discover the answer as we move along. I love to teach. In order to be an effective teacher, I believe you have to be willing to adapt and change very quickly. This may also mean you have to spend extra time with students who are struggling or be proactive when you notice there is a problem instead of waiting for them to come to you. I also believe that if a student cannot remember what they have recently learned, then there is little importance to what was taught.
