My comments on tutoring Speaking : My minor degree I'm getting in speech pathology

I am currently a student at the university of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I am majoring in early childhood education with a minor in speech pathology. I am working full time as the head aftercare teacher at hickory valley Christian school where I work with elementary school children. I have much experience in teaching, I am also a current tutor with the Honors program, working with four students ranging from 5th grade to freshman in college. I am more for for the elementary age child, but I can help in anyway when it comes to school. I feel school is the first and main priority because it is what gets you where you need to be in life.

I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Accounting. After receiving my masters in 2005, I went on to work in public accounting for 5 years where I gained experience as an auditor working for a Big 4 CPA firm. Part of my job responsibilities were to develop and coach new staff while on the job. Through my years in my last position I was able to witness firsthand how different teaching styles worked well for different children. The one common factor was that if I could make it fun and add an element of hands on type activities the lessons were retained better.
