I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career. I believe I'm qualified to teach computers because I use it everyday and know basically most of all the Microsoft Office. English/LA and Social Studies probably not as qualified but I know the basics, if I did not I would not have a Bachelor's degree right now.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning.
I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach.

I do this, first of all, by setting the mood of the classroom - meaning, I make it conducive for learning with an attitude of happiness and respect for each child; believing that I can find attributes that I like about each child, and making the atmosphere pleasant, cozy, and fun. Secondly, I instill the class rules with positive outcomes so the environment is always positive. Usually this takes about a week of consistency, then my class is ready to take off! I believe learning is about confidence. I have seen numerous students doing poorly in courses because they were convinced that they were not capable of learning the subject matter. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges.
