NYU business school looking to tutor.

I am patient, warm, and pleasant. What I do is not so much teach the material as a way to learn the material. My methods are to understand the subject matter the students are weak on and learn it with them, displaying that it takes time learning anything and most of the work in understanding subjects are difficult. The lights go on when a student grasps a subject.

I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style.
Teaching brings me pleasure. What I do is to show them, help them, then have them do whatever I am teaching them to do. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well.

Currently, I am a student attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. At UT, I am majoring in Microbiology and maintaining a 3.18 GPA. During my education, I have had great opportunities to study the sciences and mathematics; however, history and philosophy are fun to study as well. I hold a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have two and a half years of experience, most of which is at the collegiate level. I am proficient at Introductory Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I have a real understanding of these subjects; I have studied and applied them in senior level collegiate courses. I have worked as a nanny during undergraduate for a couple different families. I have also worked through the YMCA as an after school teacher where I helped students K-6 with their homework. After graduating with a BA is History, I have worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, a Kindergarten Substitute Teacher, and an after school teacher for children 4 years through kindergarten.
