I am presently working as a substitute teacher. I am certified to teach mathematics in 7th to 12th grades. I have recently passed the Praxis II tests to teach science in 7th to 12th grades. I teach almost every day and I usually teach math or science classes. Previously I worked as an engineer. During this time I mentored and trained new engineers.
I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. I have chosen to be a teacher because I believe I can make learning fun for my students. I like to relate subjects to each other so that students can see how everything is actually intertwined. I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education and in my professional career. I have earned a BS in Business Administration with a Specialization in Risk Management and Insurance from The Ohio State University. I worked for Nationwide Insurance for a period of 13 years. I held positions ranging from Sales Support Manager to Financial Business Manager. Most recently I have earned my AAB in Accounting Technology from Ohio University while working towards my CPA requirements. I will be attending Columbus State Community College in the fall of 2010 to begin taking review classes for the CPA exam. I hope to have my CPA certification in 2011.
