I came to teaching as a second career when I realized I was not happy in local politics. I earned a degree in Secondary Education with English certification grades 5-12. I have two children of my own and understand that all people learn in their own way. I have proven success with helping children find the way to learn that works best for them. A Little Bit About Me...

As a youth mentor with YouthFriends, I have worked one-on-one with students in reading and general life skills. I am current enrolled in Rockhurst University's Master in Education program to obtain a degree and elementary teaching certificate. I have completed over 25 graduate course hours that include methods in teaching math and science. I am looking for opportunities to extend what I have learned in the classroom myself to help students.
