My comments on tutoring Anatomy : I have taught both lecture and laboratory sections of Human Anatomy and Physiology at the college level.

In my career I have taught different levels of biology in a variety of settings to students ranging from preschoolers to adults. What started out as a college summer job teaching children at a St. Louis Zoo camp, grew into a career of being a conservation education coordinator at the Kansas City Zoo. One of my many responsibilities at that job was teaching teens and adults about our zoo animals and training them how to handle them. Besides developing and teaching classes on animals and ecology, I also mentored teens in the K.C. Zoo Explorer Post who were interested in zoo keeping as a career. While attending graduate school at KU, I taught laboratory sections of Introduction to Biology, Human Physiology, and Mammalian Physiology. Anatomy is one of my top subjects! Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science with concentration on Anatomy and Physiology. Physical Therapy Technician Supervisor in the US Navy.

Accepted to an internship with International Ergonomics Corporation in 1990. Experience in industrial injuries, taught back safety courses, performed Functional Capacity Evaluation, Job Risk Analysis, and Job Placement Testing. Was selected as Physical Therapy Department in the U.S. Navy from 2002 - 2006 were I supervised the treatment and testing of military personnel, and taught back safety/rehab classes and post-surgical class for rehabilitation of the knee. Have substitute taught from 2009 - present for local high school.
My teaching style is very interactive with the student. The student is provided with the skill and information on the subject and then they explain their knowledge and understanding of that subject. This is either done to fellow classmates in a "student teacher" role or to me.

A Little Bit About Me...

My form of teaching is such that it involves the students more than the tutor. I encouraged the student to be able to solve problems on their own. Call me when there is a problem that the student needs help. I love to know what part of the questions they don’t understand and help them to understand. To me interaction with students on particular question and trying to figuring out solutions together are more important than the final answer.

As a student at Grinnell College, I was motivated to achieve at a high level. During my four years of college, I earned a BA in French and Biology. I also spent four months during my third year studying in France, where I lived with a host mother and attended classes at a local university. Currently, I am working toward earning my Master's Degree in Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
