I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I can teach basic math skills to elementary students.

I enjoy teaching children and helping them accomplish their goals. I believe that learning should be fun. I try to motivate each child by focusing on their strengths. I encourage each child to try their best. I believe that each child has the potential to do well in school and I feel that it is my job to help them succeed. I have helped several of my students improve their math and reading grades, dramatically! One of my students was failing math and he received a B on his last report card! The other student went from a fourth grade reading level to a seventh grade reading level in less than three months. I like to be fun. I don't want to be the teacher/tutor that nobody likes. I want kids to be excited to see me every day. I want to be the guy that 20 years from now, they look back on their lives and remember me and what I was able to do for them.
Have never tutored anyone before aside from helping my younger sister with her homework. I completed high school with a 3.5 GPA and am currently preparing to start my 2nd year of community college. Math has always been my best subject. In 11th grade I was enrolled in Algebra II honors, I then took a pre-college algebra course in 12th grade, took a similar course my first semester of college, and then took college algebra. I learned to read when I was 3 or 4 which was earlier than most people I was around. I finished in 16th place in my 5th grade spelling bee finals. Would have gone farther but I mistook course for coarse.
