I am a graduate student currently earning a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Alabama Birmingham. I have experience teaching students in classroom settings as well as in one-on-one settings. My Bachelors Degree is in History and Political Science from Auburn University. I have great knowledge and experience in all social science subjects such as History, Geography, Economics, Government (Civics), Psychology, and Sociology. My teaching syle is on a personal one-on-one basis with instruction both thru lecture, hands on and multi-media applications. I believe students only learn thru a multi-level program. Lecture and memorization is not enough. Further, "teaching to the test" accomplishes nothing. Students must learn the content not just the basics.
I have 25 years experience in accounting. Also hold a BA in Psychology, a BS in Education and currently finishing a M.Ed in Education at UAB with a 3.8/4.0 GPA. A Little Bit About Me...

Admittedly, I have no direct (structured) teaching experience. However, I have nearly five years of experience in the journalism field, and during that time I've mentored a number of fledgling college and high school journalists. And while journalism and political science are my two specialties -- given that I have degrees in both -- I also have a fair amount of expertise in the tangential fields of English and History.
I do not have a particular teaching style because I don't believe that a single method works for everyone. Therefore, I operate from an Occam's Razor perspective -- whatever is the simplest solution is the best. I believe I am very empathetic and perceptive, which would enable me to determine what works best for each student.
