I love to learn, and love passing that on to others. I am a patient personality, and I may present a problem to a student to evaluate where they are. From there, we can go either backwards or to more advanced work. Education is very important for myself and for my children, and I like to instill that learning takes you further in life than where someone may have not even dreamed. I am amazed at seeing cashiers who can't make simple change, or someone who can't calculate a small percentage in their head, such as 10% of a number. I am certified to teach in both California and Texas in a K-8th grdae classroom. In California I taught in a self contained 5th grade classroom. In Texas I taught 7th grade math. I also hold a supplementary credential in California for Business.
I am a strong believer in teaching a student how to learn. By that I mean, students not only need to know a specific subject matter but also how to aquire and use knowledge.
