During my college years, I have been working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. I graduated on May 11, and will soon be getting my teaching certificate for elementary education. I have helped elementary students in and out of the classroom. I also tutored fellow peers when they were struggling with certain subjects.

All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student. Education cannot be mass-produced. One style does not fit all. Reading is extremely important to the success of a student. Worked in the field of Medical technology for many years. Taught junior staff and check work for completeness and accuracy. I have studied biology, chemistry and writting. I was instrumental in helping other, particulary doctors in making a correct diagnosis of patients by preforming test and documenting data and explaining results to medical personnel to make a proper diagnosis of patients. I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading. My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. For some subjects, repetition is very important and for others a clearer understanding of the concepts involved is more valuable. I like to start with small skills and build on them.
