I feel after all these wonderful years that I can assist any student who wants to learn as well as those who think they don't. My style depends sometimes on each indiviual's need. As a classroom teacher and a tutor I have experienced tremendous success due to the fact that I am always at work and always early, I thrive on education and wathcing children develop,and nobody on Earth loves teaching much more than I do. I love art and feel very strongly that it should be a very important part of everyone's education. Students are anxious to actively participate. I do a demonstration while I lecture on a particular point, i.e., perspective, form, light, color theory, etc., then let them have time to execute a given assignment in class. At this point I give them personal attention. I have a "critque" at the end of the session and have them participate. I require constructive comments so as not to discourage anyone and to promote the notion that everyone has a unique and valuable point of view . Homework is assigned and I ask students to keep a sketchbook, which should be drawn in daily. I ask to see these ungraded books intermittently throughout the course.
