I adjust to the student/learner as I am told or discover their learning preferences. However, in my experience and research, I have noticed that active learning and discovery-based learning are arguably most effective mechanisms for knowledge retention. Therefore, I make considerable efforts to implement these styles into my teaching.
I have always been passionate about communications and teaching. I like to give a diagnostic test at the first meeting to assess the client's familiarity with the topic, then, customize lessons to fit her or his needs. I aim to build a strong foundation, then, increase difficulty of concepts as client's comfort level with the topic increases. I use materials that are challenging, but not intimidating.
