A Little Bit About Me...

The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other. For this reason, I like to explain not just *how* to get there, but also *why* we got that answer; then students have a firmer foundation for the trickier concepts. I love seeing the lightbulb "go on," when kids finally "get it."

A Little Bit About Me...

I have had the privilege of attending and graduating from Southeastern University with my Bachelor of Arts in English and Intercultural Studies. In the summer of 2012 I completed an eight-week internship teaching English to refugees in Omaha. This past year I held a job as a teachers assistant in the English Department of Southeastern University. I helped assist our majors, did some grading, and wrote newsletters. I also was part of a group research project for my class, History of English, which is to be published. I also, have a considerable amount of child care experience.
