A Little Bit About Me...

In addition to the administrative experiences listed in my resume, my rapport with the people I serve has always been such that I am seen in their eyes as a 'big brother'. I have developed advanced communication skills and people-skills over the years, and am considered by all who know me as a very friendly person. I have trained mentors in para-professional counseling for many years. I have also taught languages as a volunteer. At one point in my career, I was given the opportunity to volunteer teach in Paraguay. What a wonderful cross-cultural experience that was for me! It was there that I learned the Spanish Language and I have had many opportunities to use Spanish ever since.

I have worked with children, kindergarten through first-grade, at Chesebro Elementary's after-school Spanish program. I worked with students in groups, and I taught them Spanish by using the target language only. I have taken most of the courses required for teacher certification. I have observed at both high school and middle school levels, both in which I had conducted lessons in which I had taught to the class.
I really like to help students try to really "think" deep within, and that there are multiple ways to do each task. Each student has a different learning style, or method, that will help them reach their full potential.
