A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style consists of teaching math with a holistic approach to the subject. I believe the best mathematics program is a well balanced one, consisting of concept work, guided and independent practice, mental math, and spiraled review. I believe in working with student's areas of strength, learning how they personally learn best, and building a stronger awareness of math sense and discrete math in order to be able to tackle new problems with more efficiency. My teaching style is very hands-on, exploratory and structured. I expect my students to work hard, stay focused, and give effort. I can work with any skill level of student and I motivated to try different techniques to ensure they not only learn the material but also apply it. I am a graduate student at ASU studying Education Administration. I have experience working with students of all ages 5-17. I currently work in a middle school and spend my weekends teaching life skills to troubled youth. I have taught for over 6 years and I plan to continue teaching for as long as I can.
