I am Chemical Engineer since 1983 and have been Lecturer at the Universidad Central de Venezuela for more than 30 years. I got my PhD at the Karlsruhe university (today Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). My teaching experience is mainly in Thermodynamics and Transport Phenomena, teaching among others Chemical Engineering Principles, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Separation Processes, Solid-Liquid Separations, Particle Technology. I have also some industrial experience in the alumina industry where have been process engineer during the plant expansion from 1.3 to 2.0 MMTPY at the end of the 80's. My research field is Fluid-Particle Systems in particular Solid-Liquid Separation, but also processes where particle size distribution affects the performance

A Little Bit About Me...

As being an engineer, I am very good at mathematics, physics and mechanics. I have learned calculus, algebra, geometry in high school and advanced engineering mathematics in college as we use it to solve many engineering problems, for three years I have tutored students in physics, mechanics, and mathematics.

I have been tutoring Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics since an undergraduate student. I also tutored English in Europe for several years and prepared my students for the TOEFL. I have been also teaching economics and finance because in 1995 I took the series 7&63 stockbroker licence and in 2000 I passed the LIFA, licensed international financial analyst exam.
My teaching style concentrates on the task I ought to solve. If I teach a group of people, I give a brief exam first. Tutoring individuals allows me to concentrate on one person and develop a winning strategy to motivate and teach the student for the given subject. Repetition, breaking down complex problems to simple ones and enthusiastic explanation is mainly my style. I am always adjusting to the individual who has to learn.
