A Little Bit About Me...

I have received degrees in Int'l Business from Lourdes College, as well an Associates Degree in Accounting from Owens Community College. While with the Ohio Air National Guard, participated in the Mentoring program with Township Elementary, Swanton Local Schools for five(5)-years. I enjoyed working with the students, helping those that needed a little extra attention. I enjoy reading, writing, learning new words, learning period. Math, science, grammer, writing, civics, are all areas where our future need some help and I want to help make a difference. This is a serious problem for us as a society and a nation. Young people learn through different ways and means. I try to discern the best method to instruct any particular student with whom I am tutoring at the time. I like to give examples of problems, and "problem solve" with the student through illustrative examples on paper or on the board. I encourage questions and feedback to ensure that the young person is indeed learning "how" to solve a problem, not simply to "get" a solution. A student's practical demonstration of problem solving is the best gauge to determine if that student is indeed learning or not. A Little Bit About Me...

As a Priest from Nigeria, I have been involved in education both in Africa and in the USA. I moved to the States, in 2001 and have vast experience in coaching and mentoring young people in their studies. In 2006, I became a Substitute Teacher with the Toledo Public Schools, [TPS], and since then I have been Tutoring young people yearly in two After -School - programs.While one of the programs involves students from private schools, the other is with those that attend Charter Schools. I teach all facets of English, Social Studies. I also mentor kids to ensure that that turn out to succeed in life.
