I tutored my high school peers informally (without pay) as the President of the English Club at Guthrie Public High School, but I have recently started tutoring middle grade children as well as high school students. I scored a 31 on my ACT, was awarded the Smithsonian English Award, and I am currently enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma as a Creative Writing major. My tutoring subjects include English, Reading, Writing Skills, and Study Skills for middle grade children. I also tutor for high school students and college students who need help writing essays, research papers, or preparing for the English and Reading sections of the ACT. I like to bring worksheets and activities to keep the lessons interesting. When you study a biological concept your study process needs to be organized. Most of my tests when I started taking upper level courses covered over at least 100 to 200 pages in the textbook. You need to learn how to break it down in to smaller sections while using your notes from class to predict the most important information to know thoroughly for your next test. The ability to predict what will be on your test is what separates A from C students. I can also help you cram like a pro if your in a jam. I have a degree in biology. I've always been the top in my class. I just do what works for the students. I find it easier to teach shyer kids, because that's how I was, but, I'm always up for a challenge!!
