My comments on tutoring Physics : Took Calculus based Physics in Fall 2011, passing with a B. Took Calculus based Physics II in Spring 2012, passing with an A

Laid back. I like to discover with the student, teaching them how to teach themselves in a way. My learning style, and therefore my teaching style, has always been to break a lesson down to its simplest form, and tweaking it to fit various situations. This way, the lesson is easier to remember, like learning to ride a bike.
I am currently a returning student at Arkansas State University, majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Math and Graphic Design. I previously attended Arkansas Tech University, but withdrew due to financial reasons. In 2005, I became employed at Mid-South Community College, where my duties included helping students with computer questions and issues, as well as tutoring a few students in math. During my employment there, I taught a 5-week Intro to Computers course. The class consisted of a mix of traditional and non-traditional students.

I am a biology graduate from the University of Colorado. I am planning on getting my PhD in Molecular Bio-science. I love biology and all of the other subjects withing biology (ie. molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, ecology etc. ) I also enjoy math a lot my degree only required me to complete Calc. I but I went a head and completed all of the Calc. courses (Calc III). I have grade school level kids as well as high school level. I have conducted many study groups with college students. A Little Bit About Me...

I am graduating in May with my BA in Chemistry. I will continue school in the fall in hopes of entering the nursing program. I have helped several students with high school algebra, junior high algebra, as well as college algebra. I have helped non-traditional students not only pass but receive A's and B's in their math classes after not having a math class for 20 or more years. I have helped kids with special needs (such as autism) pass college level courses as well.
I love helping people and do my best to explain everything in detail. Math and chemistry come easier to me than others, and I understand this. That is why I take my time and do not get frustrated. Anyone can learn; you just have to figure out what is their best learning style and adapt for them to learn. I have always loved helping people, and I feel tutoring is a rewarding process.

A Little Bit About Me...

As I graduated with an honors bachelor’s degree in Biology, I started working at my university as an academic tutor. Based on the performance of my students, I was further promoted to the “Lead Science Tutor” position where I could share teaching techniques and train incoming tutors as well. I had always been interested in teaching and been a good communicator to people of all age groups. I was the president of Society for Neuroscience and organized many community education outreach events.
