Learning Math can be FUN!

I try to explain concepts by explaining the methods behind them. Once a student understands the concepts, it is easier for them to apply them to other problem situations.

My teaching style varies from student to student. I like to get to know the student in order to maximize their understanding of the subject. Everybody does learn differently, so I am open to change for that said student.
To be honest I do not really have any experience of being a tutor. I am a senior at Reagan High school and for the most part I tutor other classmates and family members. Engaging and educating the mind

I have worked with children between the ages of 4-10 tutoring in areas like math and spanish. Also, I have helped adults better understand logic course material more fluently at my school NC A&T State University. Held a refresher course for elementary children during summer camps i've worked at for their english. I also like to work with the client and figure out new ways to help them better understand. This has been done through games,relevant age appropriate references, and other means.
I like to give the children more hands on material, to try and reach them at their respective level. For adults, I do help them, but try and guide them to figure it out on their own. I have found in my experience that it is better retained when the client thinks through it them selves.

I have been tutoring at Forsyth Technical Community College since September 2008. I work on average, over the 5 years, 15 hours a week, but now working 21 hours a week since I am now out of school. I have done private tutoring for about 3 years now, either with people from met from school or from tutoring. I got a BS in both Mathematics and Computer Science in May of 2013. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student.
