Every child can learn is my philosophy. I love teaching and learning from my students. Together we bring a wealth of knowledge to the table and build from it. There are two main avenues I emphasize in the classroom: Literacy and Writing. Teaching is where I belong. I am passionate as well as creative about teaching young people how to think, learn, develop, and grow. I worked as an in home private ABA therapist for two separate families, each with a child with autism. I worked individually with both children approximately 8-12 hours per week for over a year. I taught in a traditional ABA classroom with six students on the autism spectrum and all with other severe disabilities. I have also volunteered for many years as a bible school teacher.
I would have to say that my teaching style is flexibility. I believe that it is necessary to gauge your students as a group and individually before deciding on which teaching methods would be most effective. I believe that naturalistic teaching is important. I am especially well versed at helping students that have great difficulty in learning subjects such as math. I have developed new teaching methods that are extremely effective.
