I love math, so I try to convey my love for math on the student. I like to explain things in terms of what they understand and build upon it into the new material that they are working on. I am patient and willing to spend as much time as needed till the information is understood. I make effective use of diagrams and charts to help visualize what students are actually calculating. I then taught high school mathematics courses, general mathematics through pre-calculus, at Pequannock Township High School in New Jersey for 5 years. For the last 28 years I have been a pension actuary and consultant to large pension plans, during which time I have made numerous presentations to plan trustees and participants, and have also taught the basic pension course for the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
