My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Essential class that is encompassed in most sciences.

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. I have only ever tutored my neighbors two daughters. They both benefitted from it and both of the girls grades went up. Most of the time I would help them with math ,but would also help in any subject they needed, and they would work on their homework as I watched and guided them in the correct direction. If they were truly lost I would reteach the section and try to relate it to something they would better understand. They seemed to enjoy having me over to help and I loved being able to help them when they needed it.
Normally I will watch as the student works and when they get stuck is when I would help them. If they do not understand the material I will go back and teach it again.
