I have found that children like me and will listen to what I have to say. I try and teach the best way possible according to each child's needs. I am patient and will take as much time that is needed to teach your child. To me time is of no importance compared to children's need to learn.

The school of Education in North Carolina prepared me well. I am above all flexible. My license reads K-8 and I have taught Art K-6 for a year, Second Grade for two years in NC. Then in 2001 I taught Title One reading in TN for a year then Fourth grade for three more years. My family moved to Northern VA and I taught Fifth grade there for two years before moving back to TN for a year where I taught 8th grade Algebra, and 7th grade English. Since moving to Maine I have only had oppurtunity to work with alterative special Ed with grades 6, 7 and 8.
I have worked with students who were given up on years before, but once the met me, they evolved and became what so many said they never would become, educated.Vgotsky talked about the zone of proximal development and potential. I am currently attending the University of Maine in order to receive my Masters of Arts in Teaching for Secondary Education in Life Science. I am currently certified as and Ed. Tech 3 in the state of Maine and will be receiving my teaching certificate when I graduate in June, 2010. I have worked with children often over the last few years but most recently I have acted as a tutor (for most subjects) for Penobscot County Job Corps in Bangor, Maine and as a student teacher in the Oakland, Maine school system. As a student teacher, I am currently teaching both biology and human anatomy and physiology courses at the high school level.
