My teaching style is, for the most part, non-directive. I think it is important to try to have students answer their own questions. When this does not work, I do not just tell the student what goes where or why this doesn't work, I give reasons and have them tell me these same reasons the next time we come across something that doesn't work. At SCSU, I work as a writing consultant at the Writing Center on campus. With students, I help to make them better writers by helping answer questions, presenting questions, working through the brainstorming and paper-writing process, and helping with formatting. As well, I have helped to coordinate our second satellite location, which entails working with people on their schedules, managing conflicts of schedule, and serving as a head of the second location. I am also fluent in Spanish and feel comfortable tutoring high school and college levels.
