Latin is one of my top subjects! I have over 20 years of experience teaching Latin, both on the college level, high school, and middle school. I have a B.A. in Latin and French from UNC-Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Classics (Greek and Latin) from Florida State University. I am very experienced in the classroom and am told that my explanations are second to none. I do my utmost to get students to grasp what I am teaching. I am very patient with students and cannot help but add a little humor to the classroom.

I have taught all subjects mentioned for a period of over 25 years, both in the United States and Japan. I received a teacher award in Japan for excellence in teaching. My own previous students endorse me as a good, or even great, teacher. As for subjects, I prepared teachers in international schools to teach AP Latin. I taught TOEFL at more than one level to college students in Japan who were seeking to study in the United States as well.
I have a very relaxed style of teaching. Not so relaxed that there is not order in the classroom, but a style designed to put students at ease and to put them into a mood for learning. I encourage participation, active participation in class, and I encourage questions. I seek to explain so that students understand perfectly, and I will not give up until I am convinced that all have a grasp of the subject that I am teaching.

Latin is one of my top subjects!

I've been a teacher of French at all levels (with a certification!!!!) and have a MA in French and a Ph.D. in French also. I have worked with the military program in languages and helped to write and create second language programs for Language Training. I have lived in France and traveled to French-speaking places for many years. I am able to meet in person or online via Skype or FT. I have excellent evaluations from colleagues and from students and have won awards in teaching. Don't waste money on someone who lacks experience or has never been a teacher! A Little Bit About Me...

Being a student at UNC Chapel Hill has challenged and inspired me to think creatively and achieve excellence in all areas of academia. As a senior at Carolina I will graduate in the spring of 2012 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry—providing a thorough understanding of science. I have grammatical expertise and writing skills due to extensive research and refutation papers, and laboratory reports and essays throughout my undergraduate education. In the last several years I have tutored elementary reading and writing at the 1st-3rd grade levels working with underprivileged children. I have tutored general chemistry during my senior year in high school to honors students, and continue to tutor college students in chemistry today.
