A Little Bit About Me...

I am a college student at Coastal Carolina University. Willing to help anyone that needs tutoring. I am a junior studying Biological Chemistry. I am knowledgeable in many different fields besides science. Every subject I've listed I can teach to anyone willing to learn. I am a local from the area so I have a good understanding of the curriculum in the Horry county school system. I am able to teach any (k-12) material.
My teaching style is different for every person. I have to asses each individual student find out what their strong and weak points are before they can fully benefit from my tutor sessions. I am easy going, friendly, and honest. My only goal is to teach the material so the student will fully understand, remember, and enjoy what he/she is learning.

I teach all grades and university levels, but my specialties are AP Courses and university courses. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my undergraduate degree of History at The College of Charleston. From there I have been teaching various subjects such as math, Algebra, Geometry, World Geography, U. S. History, Economics, Government. I have taught in many middle and high schools throughout SC and NC. During the last five years I have tutored part time while I taught. I believe I have a great teaching style which enables me to relate concepts in a way that any new student to chemistry can understand. I love using visual aids to help get new ideas across, since I myself is a visual learner. I also like to get the student involved so that I know they are grasping the concepts and not just the answers.
Throughout my undergraduate experience, I worked with many of my fellow students to help them better understand chemistry concepts. I have gained experience in all of the major fields of chemistry including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry. I have even completed inorganic/physical chemistry research which I presented to other scientists. I currently work as a chemist, which keeps my skills sharp.

I have had two National Institute of Health fellowships in the past three years at the Medical University of South Carolina and Washington State University. I have also published research articles in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Journal of Natural Products and Tetrahedron letters and two more in the publication process. I do have a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Iowa in 2005 and a First Class BSc degree in chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I have taught chemistry to numerous students from high school in Nigeria to undergraduates at the University of Iowa, USA, for over 7 years. I can comfortably teach any part of chemistry and mathematics very well and equally fluent in English language.
