I enjoy helping students learn the concepts of mathematics/statistics and helping them to understand how to use these concepts in the real world. Math can be quite challenging, but with the right amount of effort, patience, and guidance, anyone can learn. I know this because I've tutored students as young as 12 and adults as old as 30. I graduated from the University of Iowa on May 15, 2010 with a BA in Elementary Education and a reading endorsement. Apart from my area of specialization, reading, I also took seven science courses at the University of Iowa, mainly in chemistry. My volunteer experiences have shaped the person who I am today, as I have completed over one hundred hours of volunteer work in schools and hospitals. I attended the University of Northern Iowa as an undergraduate where I received a bachelor’s degree in biology in May 2009. Beginning in August I will be attending Des Moines University where I will be pursuing a career as a doctor. Aside from having a passion for learning, I also greatly enjoy helping others.
